The number behind the headline
There were 37 firm sales across Brantford and Brant County from September 20–27, against 623 active listings. That works out to 16.8 weeks of supply. Twelve of those homes sold in 14 days or less, and the median pending list price was $599,000.
Priced right, homes still move. Priced on hope, they come back cheaper.
The week’s real story is on the sell side: 42 sellers cancelled and six listings expired. Fifteen of the cancelled listings were already back on the market at a lower price before the week ended.
The cancel–relist shuffle
When buyers do not agree with the price, sellers are choosing the exit over the negotiation: 42 cancellations against 37 firm sales. The sellers who adjusted are the ones getting back in the game — 15 already returned cheaper.
For sellers, the message is blunt: buyers are not chasing overpriced listings — they are waiting for the price to meet them. For buyers, the relist activity keeps creating room to compare carefully and negotiate from evidence.
How this update is measured
This is a seven-day snapshot of ITSO MLS® System activity across Brantford and Brant County, covering September 20–27, 2026. “Sold” means a property went firm or pending during the period—not that it closed. Weeks of supply is active inventory divided by the week’s firm sales. The $599,000 figure is the median list price of pending properties; the final sale price may differ.
