Paris, Brantford & Brant County market update.

Almost two listings died for every home that sold this week. 22 homes went firm across Brantford and Brant County, while 41 listings were cancelled or expired.

Weekly reporting period:

22Firm sales
679Active listings
30.9Weeks of supply
5Sold in 14 days or less
$615KMedian pending list price

The number behind the headline

There were 22 firm sales across Brantford and Brant County from October 11 to 17, down from 31 the week before. Active inventory stands at 679, and at 22 sales a week that works out to 30.9 weeks of supply.

41 listings died this week against 22 sales — almost two dead for every one that sold.

Only 5 of the 22 homes sold within 14 days. The median pending list price held at $615,000, while 17 of the 22 sales — 77% — were under $750,000. The affordable end is carrying this entire market. 82 new listings also came to market during the week.

Sellers are getting graded

30 listings were cancelled and 11 expired. And the sellers who pulled their listings mostly came straight back at a lower price — 20 of them within the same week. One home on D'Aubigny Road cut $85,000 in a single move, from $584,900 to $499,900.

Paris did its part: 5 of the 22 sales were in Paris, including a $1,006,500 sale at The Arlington on Sass Crescent.

The other pressure is rates. Inflation was already sitting at 3.0% — the very top of the Bank of Canada's 1–3% range — heading into the September CPI print on Monday morning, and the Bank makes its next rate decision on October 28. With 30.9 weeks of supply, higher rates are the last thing this market needs.

This is a deep buyer's market, full stop. Buyers — selection has never been better, and sellers are negotiating. Sellers — the market graded 41 prices this week and failed them. Price it right the first time.

How this update is measured

This is a seven-day snapshot of ITSO MLS® System activity across Brantford and Brant County, covering October 11–17, 2026. “Sold” means a property went pending (firm) during the period—not that it closed. Conditional listings count as active inventory; 62 of the 679 active listings were conditional. Weeks of supply is active inventory divided by the week's firm sales. The $615,000 figure is the median list price of pending properties; the final sale price may differ.
